The bathroom on the main floor has been moved into what was the laundry room. This room is quite large and was full of "wasted" space. The former bathroom has been added to the kitchen. The middle room has been altered some in recent years. My father added an entryway to the room to create a barrier from the winter cold. This week we have actually remodeled the second floor bathroom. We removed the clawfoot tub and lovingly restored it to what I hope rivals its original beauty. We put hardwood floors down in the bathroom and have also added a new pedestal sink. The house still has the original cast iron radiators and a friend of mine and I spent 10 plus hours stripping the one in the bathroom. This was a long process, but well worth the effort. In the 90s my father and brothers tore down the barn as it was in bad shape. When we moved in my parents had the front balcony removed because it was unstable and would have cost too much to repair. We have done many other updates, too many to list really!

This picture was taken in 1993 when me and my sister were in town and drove by the house. When my parents first bought this house we moved from Pittsfield, MA. As my mother drove us there she said OK kids... it is a very nice house... just use your imagination. We were shocked when we got there... it was cold, and a mess... to this day it has become a standing joke when me or my sisters or brothers see an old broken down delapitated house along the side of the road... were like "look at that beautiful house... just use your imagination!" We had a lot of good times in this house... one very distinct one I can remember is my father sitting on the couch in the living room, and getting up to go to bed, and when he went to the stairs they were gone (My mother had moved them to the back of the house) He said "OK xxxxx what did you do with the stairs?" My mother said that she wasn't telling... he slept on the couch. The next day my father came home from work with a rod iron spiral staircase. He cut a hole in the floor, and bolted it down! He turned to my mother and said... now try and move the stairs! Every time we turned around my mother was knocking down a wall or putting one up, honestly IM surprised the house is still standing! I still remember pitcher perfect the original floor plan of the house when we first moved in. My father has since passed away, but I know the happiest moments of his life were spent in that house! IM very interested in talking to anyone who is living in the house now, or has in the past!
